VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway after a murder victim was found in a storage unit in Westland.
Police say that the 31-year-old woman was shot to death at the Westlake Apartments in Van Buren Township on Sunday.
Fox2Detroit reports that when officials arrived at the apartment, they discovered that the body had been taken from the scene.
A 32-year-old man was identified as the suspect, and was taken into custody on Sunday around midnight in Monroe County.
After police learned of the storage unit, they obtained a search warrant, and found the victim's body.
According to police, the investigation is ongoing.
