DENTON TOWNSHIP, MICH. (WWJ) A man is in custody for allegedly breaking into a Northern Michigan home and defecating all over the victim's furniture.

The Roscommon County Sheriff's Office said the victim, a 33-year-old woman, woke up around 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4. She found an "unknown man" without any pants on in her house. It happened in Denton Township, on South Gladwin.

She confronted the man, and he left.

But he had defecated in the woman's trash can, and left "fecal smears" all over her furniture, according to sheriff's officials.

Further investigation revealed the perpetrator — a 41-year-old Prudentville man — was "severely drunk" and had entered the home by breaking out a window screen. Evidence at the scene suggested the man had been in the home for over four hours, officials said.

The suspect was arrested and lodged at Roscommon County Jail. His name will be released pending his arraignment.
