(WWJ) A local media company has crafted a new way to hop around to Michigan's most popular, and up and coming breweries.
The Michigan Brewery Map App, by Better on Draft Media, LLC, launched on iOS and Android on Friday.
The Map App helps beer fans keep track of the state's more than 400 breweries.
"Users of the application will be able to filter by other products like cider and wine, while also being able to filter for brewery features like an outdoor patio and to-go sales," the release read.
The users will also be able to bookmark their favorite breweries and filter to find ones they have not yet visited.
The app is based off a map started by the Michigan Beer Guide years ago, that became a crowdsourced document.
"This map has been around for a couple years. People have been just using it and updating it and helping us. As COVID hit, there's a lot of points of information that people want before heading out to a brewery," Kenneth Konarzewski Jr. with Better on Draft Media told WWJ's Zach Clark.
Better on Draft Media said the goal of the app is to "to get the consumer back to their favorite brewery, and the opportunity to find new and upcoming breweries they have yet to try."
The app is free. To download it, click here.
