(WWJ) Every year Comerica Park — home of the Detroit Tigers — offers an array of interesting new food items. There's a long list this year, so we thought we'd sample a few and share our thoughts.
Get it! These were our favorites: The Smash Burger and the Marrow Beef Bacon Burger.
WWJ's Dan Jenkins says: "These two burgers were the star of the show. Very, very good. Better than a typical ballpark burger."
Get this! Second place goes to...
The Charcoal Grilled Chicken Wings.
These are simply delicious. Anyone who is a fan of wings should be pleased by this offering, found in the Miller Lite Market (Section 149)
Skip this! (maybe):
Adventurous fans seeking a more outside-the-box snack will find the Pierogi Grilled Cheese Slider (with pierogi, sauerkraut, Mornay sauce and Velveeta) in Section 143. Dan confessed that he didn't like this one, saying it was the least tasty item he sampled. But, who knows... Maybe you'd enjoy it?
Honorable mention goes to ...
The Braised Barbacoa Torta, with braised beef, avocado salsa, citrus slaw, cotija cheese. You'll find this new item at Marrow, located near section 114.
We admit, no one on our team got a chance to sample this offering. But it just looks and sounds so yummy! We plan to try it soon, and you should, too.
