(WWJ) A Wayne County high school campus was on a lockdown on Friday, after a teacher received an alleged bomb threat.
The Huron Township Department of Public Safety said in an update on Facebook that nothing was found during the investigation into the threat earlier at Huron High School.
When administrators found out about the threat, they enacted emergency protocols immediately and contacted law enforcement, WWJ's Jon Hewett reported.
The Michigan State Police K9 Explosive Detection Unit had multiple dogs conduct searches at both the high school and Renton Junior High. Nothing was found at either school, according to police.
Police and the Huron Township Fire Department remained at the school for the rest of the day, the department said.
The department said that the K9 unit also checked the football complex ahead of Friday night's Homecoming football game. Huron Township Police will remain inside the stadium until the game ends, with additional officers on the school grounds.
Police reminded the community of the bigger focus for the weekend, adding in a social media post: "Have an enjoyable homecoming weekend and …..GO CHIEFS!!!"
