ALLEN PARK (WWJ) - Downriver authorities said there was no threat in a report made to police about a student at Allen Park High School suspected of having a gun Wednesday afternoon.
WWJ Newsradio 950 first received a call from a tipster around noon who said his child was a student at one of two schools that had been placed on lockdown due to the threat.
Authorities had roped off the area near Allen Park High School and Bennie Elementary School while police investigated the incident.
The student in question was detained and questioned by police.
Allen Park police conducted an initial investigation where they found no credible threat.
"We always will react in an overabundance of caution and diligence," police said on social media.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
