(WWJ) A Dearborn Heights Crestwood school bus taking students to class crashed into a car and a tree early Tuesday morning, but no serious injuries were reported.

"Initial reports were no injuries, but then we heard there were a few kids that we wanted to have checked out for precautions, medical checked them out on scene, nobody went to the hospital, things came out okay with that thank God, but nothing else with any injuries," Dearborn Heights Police Director Paul Vanderplow told WWJ's Luke Sloan.

Fire Department personnel said about ten students were evaluated on scene.

"Anytime you have a bus and you have kids, that's why we're so we're so strict about no passing buses when the arms are out," Vanderplow said.

"I know our bus drivers take great care getting through these streets to ensure the kids get to school safely. Obviously anytime you see one of these buses, it's one of our greatest assets that we have, and we want to make sure that the kids on there are safe."

There's no word on what made the driver lose control of the bus.
