NOVI (WWJ) -- An Oakland County father is facing possible life in prison after allegedly abusing his 3-month-old twins.
ClickOnDetroit reports that Novi police officers were called to Washtenaw County Child Protective Services at Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor on Feb. 11 after twins were brought in with significant internal injuries.
The father, 27-year-old Edward Gerald Roney, of Novi, was arrested by detectives on two counts of first-degree child abuse.
The charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison.
Roney was arraigned Friday and is being held at the Oakland County Jail on a $1 million bond.
The twins are expected to survive with long-term care, said authorities.
