NOVI (WWJ) -- A shopping center in Novi has been evacuated Friday morning after a snowplow nicked the main gas line, causing a gas leak that's hissing away.
The main gas line is connected to the back of the Old Navy store at the West Oaks One shopping center in Novi, which is off of Novi Road and I-696 was evacuated just after 7 a.m.
Novi fire officials told WWJ that the plow was clearing the parking lot before it hit the pipe. The fire department had to cut off the gas to every store in the building and got people out as a precaution.
Consumers Energy is on the scene, but it's unclear how long it'll take to fix the leak.
No injuries have been reported.
