At the scene, deputies discovered a 23-year-old man lying on his back in the front yard with his shirt covered in blood. Inside the house, a second victim, a 30-year old man, was found in an upstairs room.

It was determined that both victims had been shot, officials said. EMS arrived and both men were pronounced dead.

According to the sheriff's report, numerous spent casings and bullets were found in the house near the second victim’s body and the back door, and there was a trail of blood leading from the door across the backyard.

The woman mentioned in the report was also found inside the house, but she was not injured, officials said.

A search began for the shooter, who fled the scene before deputies arrived. A K-9 team was called in, but failed to track down the suspect.

There is no description of the wanted gunman at this time.

As of late Friday morning, detectives were still interviewing witnesses and working to gather more information on the suspect, and what exactly happened.

A motive for the slayings is also unknown, as the investigation continues.

The victims' names were not immediately released.
