'Increased police activity' on Orchard Lake due to deputies training; Oakland Co. Sheriff's Department

WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) - The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department said the increased activity at a local lake was for a training exercise.

Drivers in West Bloomfield reported a lot of police activity on Orchard Lake and at the boat launch to WWJ on Wednesday. The Sheriff’s Department said deputies were conducting training exercises.

West Bloomfield’s Nixle system sent an alert saying “Oakland County Sheriff Training - Orchard Lake. Be advised, Oakland County Sheriff has units out on Orchard Lake in the water doing training exercises. The lights and other figures out on the water are the Sheriff’s deputies. No Emergency Response Necessary.”
