Oakland County man wins $150,000 playing online lottery game
(WWJ) An Oakland County man plans to pay it forward after winning $150,000 playing an instant lottery game.
The Michigan Lottery says the 48-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, bought his winning ticket for the Michigan Lottery's Caribbean Cashword instant game online.
"I had just started playing Caribbean Cashword and it was getting late," said the player. "I told myself I'd play three more tickets before bed, and on the third ticket I hit $150,000 and everything went crazy."
The player visited Lottery headquarters to claim his big prize.
With his winnings, he says he plans to pay some bills, share with people in the community, and then invest the rest.
"Winning is truly amazing. I'm looking forward to sharing this with people in need. It's been a tough year, and I could really help some people by sharing this," the player said.
Michigan Lottery players have a chance to win up to $500,000 instantly playing online. Players also may win prizes ranging from $1 up to multimillion-dollar jackpots playing Powerball, Mega Millions, Lucky for Life, Lotto 47, and Fantasy 5 online.
