(WWJ) -- Prepare yourselves now for detours and traffic.
The Michigan Department of Transportation announced that bridge and road work will begin on I-75 this weekend in Oakland County.
Starting at 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 and ending by 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 8, southbound I-75 will be closed from I-75 Business Loop (Square Lake Road) to M-102 (Eight Mile Road), while northbound I-75 will be closed from 8 Mile to 14 Mile roads.
The road work will consist of construction crews restoring southbound traffic to its normal arrangement at 13 Mile Road, demolishing the Stephenson Highway Bridge and paving northbound I-75.
Drivers on northbound I-75 will be detoured west on 8 Mile Road to northbound M-1, or Woodward Avenue, then eastbound Square Lake Road to northbound I-75.
Northbound I-75 will be able to be accessed by traffic from 14 Mile Road.
Traffic on southbound I-75 will use westbound Square Lake Road to southbound M-1, then eastbound 8 Mile Road back to southbound I-75.
Prior to the Friday night closures, crews will begin closing ramps at 9 p.m. and freeway lanes at 10 p.m.
All ramps to northbound I-75 will be closed from Davison Freeway to 12 Mile Road. All ramps to southbound I-75 will be closed from M-59 to 9 Mile Road.
