ORION TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -- An Oakland County student has been suspended, but will not face charges, after allegedly threatening to “shoot up” Paint Creek Elementary School in Orion Township.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the 10-year-old boy told a classmate that he would “shoot up the school like Ethan Crumbley," referring to the Oxford High School student who shot and killed four classmates last year.

The situation came under investigation on Friday, Oct. 28 after the classmate reported the threat to school officials.

The boy — who’s name is not being released due to his age — was taken to the Children’s Village juvenile detention center for a night, but was not charged. He was suspended from school for five days.

Investigators say the boy’s father had several guns in their house that were confiscated, but will be returned once he gets a gun safe.
