DETROIT (WWJ) - Rescue efforts to save a woman reported in the Detroit River were underway Friday morning.
The Coast Guard told WWJ they were called to assist officers and crews from the Detroit Police Harbor Master just after 9:30 a.m. August 12 after a person was reported in waters along the Riverfront.
Coast Guard authorities said they were in the process of getting their helicopter into the air to help with the search.
The victim, said to be a woman, was seen in the water near the Renaissance Center and Port Authority.
Around 9:40 p.m., the woman was reportedly pulled from the river by rescue crews.
Her condition is currently unknown, but EMS personnel were called in to assist.
No other details were made available.
