BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) -- A deadly crash and police investigation has a stretch of Telegraph Road shut down in Oakland County on Wednesday.

As of 2 p.m., there was still large police presence in Bloomfield Township, where northbound Telegraph was shut down at Long Lake Rd.

Police confirmed that one person was killed in the crash that happened late Wednesday morning along Telegraph Rd., at Hickory Grove Rd.

According to police, a 70-year-old Detroit man, who may have been having a medical emergency, was driving an SUV erratically from Lone Pine Rd. He hit several cars until eventually getting into a crash with a truck.

The man was killed. No other injuries were reported.

While police did not estimate a time for the roadway to reopen, they said this is likely to be a "lengthy investigation," and asked drivers to be patient and find an alternate route.
