One woman killed in double shooting at Southfield nightclub, person of interest in custody: police

A second woman was also injured. She is in stable condition.

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) A double shooting at a nightclub/lounge in Southfield left one woman dead and one man in custody.

Southfield Police said the shooting happened at Bloom Southfield on Southfield Road near 10 Mile on Saturday, January 10, around 2:35 a.m.

Authorities said officers arrived on scene and found two women with gunshot wounds. Paramedics rushed them both to the hospital-- where one of them passed away from her injuries, and the other is listed in stable condition.

According to police; their investigation indicated a dispute between at least three people who did not know each other escalated to gunfire. Officers took a 30-year-old man-- who was involved in the dispute-- into custody for questioning.

The victims' ages and identities were not released.

"At this time, there appears to be no threat to the public," Southfield Police said in the press release.
