
MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Macomb County authorities say they have arrested the driver who fled the scene of pedestrian crash that killed a 40-year-old man on Wednesday evening.
The Madison Heights Police Department said the fatal incident occurred just before 10 p.m. on Sept. 13 with officers responding to the area of Dequindre, south of Twelve Mile, after receiving reports of a car crash involving a pedestrian.
When police arrived at the scene, the found a 40-year-old man on the road with injuries while the vehicle that allegedly struck him fled the area.
The victim was rushed to Ascension Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the department stated.
Investigators managed to track down the driver, identified as a 32-year-old male, in Warren and arrested him.
No additional information on the suspect was released pending his arraignment.
