
DETROIT (WWJ) A person and a dog were rescued from a house fire on Detroit’s west side.
The Detroit Fire Department (DFD) said the flames broke out at a home on West Grand near Petoskey on Saturday, November 23rd, around 3 a.m. First responders received the call around 3:06 a.m. and arrived at scene by 3:12 a.m.
A spokesperson for DFD called the 5 minute and 45 second response time "impressive."
Crews rescued both a person and a dog from the balcony of the home. No further details were given about the person--including age, gender, or whether they lived inside the home.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
