NOVI (WWJ) -- A long-vacant Sears store in Metro Detroit is getting a re-do.
The manager at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi confirmed construction is already underway for three new attractions at the shopping center on Novi Rd., near 12 Mile: Round1 Bowling and Arcade, Irish clothing retailer Primark, and a Dick's House of Sport.
Dick's House of Sport is different from their sporting goods stores already here Michigan. While offering clothing and sports equipment like other Dick's stores, this location will also feature a climbing wall, track, batting cages and golf simulator. There will also be a field that can transform into an ice rink in the winter.
Dick's will occupy most of the lower level.
"These new additions will bring unique experiences and entertainment options to the Novi community and will expand the shopping center's diverse mix of retail, entertainment, and dining," a news release stated.
The three new stories are expected to open in 2026.
The Sears store at Twelve Oaks closed in 2019.
