PLYMOUTH TWP. (WWJ) -- Multiple fire departments responded to the scene of a big fire on Thursday, at the Hines Park Place apartments in Plymouth Township.
The fire broke out shortly before noon at the multi-building complex, near Hines Drive and Wilcox Road.
There was a lot of smoke in the area and flames could be seen shooting out of the roof of one building, as fire crews tried to knock the fire down.
By around 1:30 p.m., the fire seemed to be mostly under control, with fire crews continuing their work.
Officials said eight units damaged, and 16 others have smoke damage.
Scene of fire in Plymouth Township.Eve JenkinsThere is no information at this time that any residents were injured, but there are unconfirmed reports that one firefighter was taken from the scene by ambulance.
One resident said her cats were trapped inside. It's not clear if they got out OK.
WWJ is working to get more details from authorities.
It's not yet known how the fire started.
