HAZEL PARK (WWJ) -- A police chase from Warren into Hazel Park ended with a crash, and one car going into a hamburger joint.
Police said the two suspects were wanted for stealing a car from Lafayette mobile home park near Eight Mile Rd. and Dequindre. When officers spotted the car, the suspects sped off.
The suspects crashed into an uninvolved driver at Nine Mile Rd. and Dequindre, and that innocent driver ended up veering and crashing into the side of Brayz Hamburger at Nine Mile and Dequindre.
The owner had to close so repairs can be made.
"Been here for 80 years, what are you going to do?" Brayz owner Paul Mirdita told WWJ's Charlie Langton. "You know, it's sad out here — they want to steal cars, they want to go on chases, they want to do this, they want to do that. Get a job, work for your money."
Only workers were inside the business at the time of the crash. They were not hurt.
Police said both suspects tried to run away, but were caught.
One person was taken to a hospital, but it's unclear if it was one of the suspects or the driver that crashed into Brayz.
The investigation is ongoing.
