ROMULUS (WWJ) -- Romulus police are asking for tips to help find the suspects behind an armed puppy-napping.
On Wednesday at approximately 8:37 p.m. Romulus police officers met with a mobile locksmith who stated that she and her husband were robbed at gunpoint by three unknown black males.
Police say a man called for a mobile locksmith on Plain Way near Eureka and Middlebelt, claiming he had been locked out of his car.
When the locksmiths - a man and a woman and their French bulldog puppy - arrived, three suspects -- dressed in all black and reportedly wearing masks -- approached the victims with black handguns and demanded money.
The couple had no cash, so the suspects took off with their tools and the puppy.
The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction along Eureka Road in a silver Ford Fusion.
No gunshots were fired and no injuries were reported.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Romulus Police Department at 734-941-8400.
