Investigation underway into stabbing and homicide in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ) - Police are investigating a stabbing and homicide in Grand Rapids.

Police were called out to a residence for a “medical call for an individual with a head injury” on the 1000 block of College Avenue NE at around 3 a.m. on Dec. 27.

It was found that the victim, a man, had been stabbed. A suspect was taken into custody shortly after, authorities said.

Two victims of a suspected overdose were also found while police were at the location. Police said the man was transported to a local hospital, but the woman was reported dead at the scene.
