Man involved in deadly shooting of 16-year-old turned himself in to Lincoln Park Police

LINCOLN PARK (WWJ) -- The 19-year-old suspect in a shooting that left a teenager dead over the weekend turned himself in on Wednesday after police announced they were looking for him, according to authorities.

Austin Allen Hamrick was identified as a person of interest following the fatal shooting in Lincoln Park that killed a 16-year-old on Sunday, Dec. 12.

Upon arrival around 5:30 p.m. Lincoln Park Police Chief Raymond Watters said they responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Richmond Avenue and Porter Street.

Police located the victim with a gunshot wound and he was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The victim has not been identified.

Hamrick will be arraigned after prosecution's review of the complaint.
