PONTIAC (WWJ) – A man is on the run after allegedly robbing and shooting a store clerk in Pontiac over the weekend.

Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Boost Mobile store on Auburn Avenue near MLK Boulevard around 6:45 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports a woman had been shot.

The clerk, a 31-year-old Pontiac woman, told deputies a man wearing a mask came into the store, pulled out a gun and demanded money from the cash register.

Even after she gave the man money from the register, he shot her in the abdomen before running out of the store, according to police.

The woman was taken to the hospital and was listed in stable condition on Monday.

Police describe the suspect as a Black male, about 5-foot-8 and “average weight.” Authorities released his photo Monday, showing him wearing a blue sweatshirt, tan pants, sunglasses, black boots and a black ski mask.
