CLINTON TWP. (WWJ) -- The search for a missing child led investigators to a pond in Clinton Township on Wednesday.
Detroit Police and Michigan State Police were on the scene at a pond near 14 Mile Rd. and Gratiot Ave., in connection with the investigation into the disappearance of 13-year-old Na'Ziyah Harris of Detroit.
Harris has been missing since January 9 when she was last seen getting off the bus near Outer Drive and East Warren Ave. on Detroit's east side.
Officials with the MSP Second District said the MSP Marine Services Team was assisting DPD with the search, which concluded by mid-afternoon.
"Precisely what led investigators here remans unclear," WWJ's Jon Hewett reported from the scene. "They're also not saying what they may or may not have found. But given the search was stopped after around three to four hours without any details being shared, one nay conclude nothing was found, or at least nothing worth sharing today."
Police said Harris was wearing a light blue jean shirt, light blue jeans and a pink and white Rugrats coat with a fur collar when she went missing. She is 5'2'' tall and weighs 130 lbs.
Speaking to reporters two weeks ago, Detroit Police Chief James White said his investigators had not given up hope they may yet find Na'Ziyah safe and unharmed.
At that time, White said it was believed that the teen may have been staying with friends. He said that investigators were interviewing suspects in the case.
Police have not announced any arrests in this case.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to this missing child's location.
Anyone with information about Harris' whereabouts is urged to call the DPD's Major Crimes Division at 313-596-2260. To remain 100% anonymous, tipsters can call the Crime Stoppers line at 1-800-Speak Up (1-800-773-2587), or submit information at this link.
