Police seek Person of Interest in connection with shots fired outside Detroit high school prom gathering

DETROIT (WWJ) Detroit Police (DPD) have released a photo of a Person of Interest in connection with shots fired outside a high school on the city's east side earlier this week.

DPD said an unknown suspect (or suspects) fired shots in the parking lot of Martin Luther King High School on Lafayette near Mount Elliot on Thursday, May 29, around 8:30 p.m.

A prom-send-off was underway, so "several" teenagers were present at the time of the gunfire; according to authorities.

No injuries were reported.

DPD released two photos (above) of the Person of Interest Saturday morning. They are asking anyone who recognizes him to come forward by calling the DPD's 7th Precinct at (313) 596-5740.
