DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Detroit Police Department is asking for help from the public as investigators search for a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run crash.
It happened just before 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, according to police, at the intersection of Fairmount and Schoenherr Rd., on the city's east side.
Police said a 20-year-old woman was on foot when she was hit by a white Hummer, which then fled the scene, headed toward 8 Mile Road.
Police said the woman was taken to a hospital, where she died of her injuries days later. Her name was not released.
On Wednesday, police released a surveliene photo of the suspect vehicle, which is missing its passenger-side mirror. There is no description of the driver at this time.
