TAYLOR (WWJ) -- It's a bizarre case Downriver, where police are looking for a man who allegedly lived in a motel room with his girlfriend's body for days.

According to police, the woman was found dead last week by a worker at the Red Roof Inn in Taylor.

WWJ's Charlie Langton reports police are now searching for her boyfriend who took off — leaving a room filled with trash, two dogs, and his dead girlfriend, Rebecca Patnaude, whom he never reported.

Police want to question the boyfriend, Christopher Schoonmaker, about Patnaude's death. Investigators said he may be in possession of her credit cards.

Langton said authorities are still waiting for toxicology reports before they conclude the cause of death, although they say an autopsy found no signs foul play.

Anyone with information about Schoonmaker's whereabouts, or anything about this case, is asked to call Taylor Police at 734-287-6611. To remain anonymous, tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (800-773-2587), or submit anonymous tips online at this link.
