DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit Police are asking for tips as they search for teenage girl who may have run away from home.

Jordan Smith, 17, was last seen at around 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at the home in the 8400 block of E. Outer Dr., near Gratiot Ave. on the city's east side.

Police that the teen left the house without permission, and did not return.

Smith is described as Black female, 5'10'' tall and weighing around 210 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a purple bonnet, black short-sleeve shirt with red lettering, and red Crocs shoes. Her father told police she lives with mental illness.
