(WWJ) Detroit Police are trying to identify and find a suspect, wanted for firing shots at officers on the city's east side.
Police say 9th precinct special operation officers responded to the area of Kennebec and Gunston for a felonious assault in progress at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Officers talked to the caller, who said a man fired multiple shots at his vehicle.
While officers were talking to the caller; the alleged shooter rode by in a Black Chrysler 300.
The officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on the Chrysler, police said. The car slowed down in the area of E. McNichols and Strasburg.

Investigators told WWJ the passenger leapt out of the car and ran away, while the driver kept going.
Police said the passenger fired shots at officers while he was running. Officers did not return fire, and he was able to get away. No one was injured.
A K9 search was conducted for the passenger, but he was not found. The Black Chrysler 300 was later recovered at Farmbrook and Berden St.
The passenger accused of shooting at officers is described as 5'9", slim build, with short dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and black pants. Police told WWJ he was armed.
