Police searching for tips on alleged arson suspect who lit blazing vehicle fire in Detroit [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) - An investigation launched by the Detroit Police Department is searching for tips in connection to an arson case where a suspect sent an SUV up in flames in mid-March.

Investigators said the alleged crime occurred on Friday, March 18 just after 3 a.m.

A witness told police they saw a silver Ford Flex traveling along the 1100 block of Lewerenz Street before it pulled up next to a vehicle. Video provided by the witness shows a suspect appearing to get out from the passenger side of the Ford, moments before a large fire overtakes the front cabin of the SUV.

The Ford Flex then flees the scene in an unknown direction.
