PONTIAC (WWJ) -- A Pontiac man is behind bars, accused of stabbing his neighbor to death Wednesday morning.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the murder took place shortly after 8:15 a.m. on Sept. 18, at a home in the 100 block of Ypsilanti, in the area of Columbia Ave, and Baldwin in Pontiac.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said it's believed that the 50-year-old suspect had gotten into an argument with the victim, a 41-year-old Pontiac man, before the deadly attack.

Bouchard said the suspect took off after the stabbing, but was found by deputies and arrested several blocks away, near the corner of Walton and Baldwin.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released.

Detectives are expected to turn the results of their investigation over to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office for charges as soon as Thursday.

The suspect's name is being withheld, pending an arraignment.

Officials did not say what the two men were arguing about.
