Officials warn of possible COVID-19 outbreak related to Luke Bryan concert in Fowlerville

(WWJ) -- Health officials in Livingston County are reporting a COVID-19 outbreak related to the Luke Bryan farm concert in mid-September.

The Livingston County Health Department says 27 people who have recently tested positive for the coronavirus attended the concert on Sept. 18 at a farm in Fowlerville.

About 20,000 people attended the country superstar’s show, which was part of his 2021 Farm Tour, which is his way of giving back to local farming communities, as proceeds from concerts go to charities and scholarships for students from farm families.

The health department says those who attended the show should get tested for COVID-19, regardless of their vaccination status.

Those who attended are also encouraged to wear a face mask in public areas and watch for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 until at least Sunday, which would mark two weeks since the show. Health officials say symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.

Symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, and more.
