GARDEN CITY (WWJ) -- An hours-long manhunt across several Metro Detroit communities on Thursday has ended with an escapee back in custody, thanks to a tip from a sharp-eyed clerk at a CVS Pharmacy.

Inkster Police said 47-year-old Antonio Hollingsworth was initially arrested following a motorcycle crash that left the victim in critical condition. Hollingsworth is also a parole absconder wanted for a robbery conviction.

He was taken to Garden City Hospital, on Inkster Rd. near Maplewood, to be checked out after complaining of pain. That's where he escaped from police custody on Thursday.

Noting that Hollingsworth should be considered armed and dangerous, police released his photo and asked anyone the public to keep an eye out for him, and call 911.

Some local schools, including the Crestwood and Garden City districts, were on lockdown as a precaution, as police searched for the escapee. All lockdowns have since been lifted, after the all-clear was given by police.

Shortly before 5 p.m., Garden City Police confirmed that Hollingsworth was located and was taken back into custody.

Police told WWJ Newsradio 950 that Hollingsworth was arrested at a CVS Pharmacy in Garden City after a clerk there recognized him and called 911.
