REDFORD TWP. (WWJ) — A Redford Township man is facing felony charges after allegedly shooting his stepdaughter in the leg earlier this week.

Christopher Harris was arraigned Friday on a 12-count felony warrant in connection with the shooting, which happened around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at a home near Lexington and 8 Mile.

Bond was set at $5 million, 10%, and if released Harris will be ordered to wear a GPS tether.

Police were called to the area Tuesday night after getting reports of shots fired and when they showed up they learned the man’s 13-year-old stepdaughter had been shot.

Harris was found about two blocks away after allegedly running from the scene and he was taken into custody. Officers recovered two handguns that were found nearby.

The teen was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Redford Police Chief Jen Mansfield told reporters earlier this week there was an assault in the home involving two adults and Harris pulled out a gun.

"And when a shot was fired, it did, in fact, accidentally hit the juvenile," Mansfield said.

Mansfield said this was not a domestic dispute, but did not further elaborate on the circumstances that led up to the gunfire. While Mansfield said the teen was not the intended target of the shooting, she did not release any information about the other adult involved in the incident.

When the Redford Township Police Department announced Friday that Harris had been charged, they did not immediately release a list of charges, though Fox 2 reported he has been charged with the following:

• Two counts of firearm possession by a prohibited person
• Two counts of carrying a concealed weapon
• Five counts of felony firearm
• Possession of ammo by a prohibited person
• Assault with a dangerous weapon
• Careless discharge of a firearm causing injury.
