REDFORD TWP (WWJ) Redford Township Police are searching for a suspect in a deadly hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.
Redford Township Police said the crash happened on Sunday, May 3, around 11:30 p.m. in the area of Schoolcraft and Telegraph.
Officers responded to the area. Their preliminary information revealed a woman, 69, was walking in the crosswalk when an unknown vehicle struck her.
The victim was walking northbound across Telegraph from the southeast corner of the intersection. The vehicle was traveling east when it hit the victim, according to police.
Authorities said the vehicle fled the scene.
The woman’s name and city of residence were not released.
