SUMMERFIELD TWP., Mich. (WWJ) -- A man is in police custody following a road rage shooting involving two Ohio men in Monroe County Thursday morning.
The situation unfolded shortly before 10 a.m. when a 21-year-old Toledo man was driving his blue Dodge in the northbound lanes of US-23 and became involved in a road rage incident with a 35-year-old man, also from Toledo, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the 35-year-old man, driving a gray Mazda, pulled out a handgun and fired it.
The sheriff’s office did not say what prompted the road rage incident.
Both vehicles exited US-23 at Summerfield Road and stopped on the exit ramp, and a confrontation ensued when both drivers exited their vehicles.
Before things escalated further, Deputy Jason Miller saw the incident and stopped to investigate.
After speaking with both drivers, the 35-year-old Toledo man who fired the gun was arrested and lodged at the Monroe County Jail.
The suspect’s name is being withheld, pending formal arraignment in 1st District Court.
