DETROIT (WWJ) – Drivers in Detroit are dealing with a traffic headache Sunday afternoon after a rollover crash on I-96.
The local and express lanes of the freeway were closed around 4 p.m. after the crash, which happened on the eastbound lanes just past Davison.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash or if anyone was injured, though multiple emergency vehicles were on-scene.
Traffic was at a standstill from at least the Southfield Freeway, with a slow-go leading up to it.
WWJ Traffic reporter Marty Buffalini says the closure is forcing traffic off at Schaefer. Drivers can take Schaefer south to Fullerton, east to southbound Oakman and rejoin I-96 from there.
