Roseville home destroyed by fire, deemed suspicious

Fire destroys Roseville home, under investigation

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway after a home went up in flames, Friday morning in Roseville.

WWJ's Charlie Reports that there were no injuries, as the home was unoccupied.

Roseville Fire got the call around 6:30 a.m. on June 19 about a house on fire on Beaconsfield Street, with reports of flames and smoke shooting out of the home

Battalion Chief Joel Higuchi told reporters the home is a total loss.

"It's definitely not livable," Higuchi said. "The exterior of the structure, it's significant damage, and there was some impingement into the house on Charlie's side, so...they definitely can't live in there. Although there isn't anybody living in there right now...they definitely can't move in, that's for sure."

Higuchi said it's unclear how long the home has been vacant.

Officials could not immediately find the owner and were still working on that, later in the morning.

There's still a lot of questions as to the cause of the fire.

"And now the Roseville police, they've been called, and the authorities are saying this is a suspicious fire," Langton said.

No further information was released, as the investigation continues.
