ROSEVILLE (WWJ) -- Police in Roseville are opening a criminal investigation into the death of a 1-year-old baby girl.
Investigators say the child was transported earlier last week to a local hospital with an unexplained head injury, which they called “suspicious.” She died on Sunday from her injuries.
Deputy Police Chief Mitchell Berlin says detectives have been looking into the incident since last week, but because of the “tragic circumstances” surrounding the situation, limited information is being released at this time.
Berlin says following a cause of death determination, additional details will be made available.
