DETROIT (WWJ) – A Roseville woman has been charged with shooting another woman in the head on Detroit’s northwest side earlier this month.

Danique Golder, 24, is accused of shooting 24-year-old Takeisha Williams, of Trenton, on April 16 after a verbal altercation.

Golder was arraigned over the weekend on one count of second-degree murder, one count of discharging a weapon in or at a building causing death, and two counts of felony firearm.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office says Detroit police officers were called to a home in the 15420 block of Vaughan Street – near Fenkell Avenue and Evergreen Road – around 11:30 a.m. on April 16, where they found Williams with a gunshot wound to her head.

She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities say the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation and Golder fired a handgun into the doorway of the house, striking Williams in the head. Police officials have not said what prompted the argument.

Golder was arrested on April 21 and arraigned on April 23. She was given a $750,000 cash/surety bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for May 2.
