ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - A Macomb County woman is dead after a pickup truck driver crossed over into oncoming traffic on and smashed head-on into her car in Rochester Hills.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office confirmed the fatality after the crash at 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, along northbound Rochester Road near the Barclay Circle intersection.
According to investigators, a 60-year-old Washington Township man was driving a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup southbound on Rochester Rd. when the truck partially crossed the center line into a northbound lane.
Officials said the pickup collided head-on with a Saturn Vue driven by 33-year-old Tarah Baldwin of Roseville.
Baldwin's car then crashed into a northbound Jeep Wrangler driven by a 65-year-old Macomb Township woman.
The sheriff's office said Baldwin was taken by EMS to a local hospital where she died of her injuries.
The other two drivers involved were also taken to a hospital where they were both listed in stable condition, Wednesday afternoon.
At this time, investigators say it is not believed that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, but that distracted driving may have played a role.
Northbound Rochester Road was closed at the scene for the investigation, but has since reopened to traffic.
