DETROIT (WWJ) -- The National Weather Service warned of another round of thunderstorms in Metro Detroit on Tuesday, as people were dealing with outages and fallen trees from the storms that rolled through on Monday.

NWS said any of these storms is capable of producing hail, high winds, flooding downpours, and even an isolated tornado or two.

NWS Meteorologist TJ Turnage said we tend to see more active weather during spring and fall because of the temperature fluctuations.

"We are certainly in the time of year where thunderstorms and pretty big fluctuations in temperatures associated with that happens pretty often well into June," Turnage said. "And then we'll often see a secondary maximum toward the end of summer."

NWS said Monday's storms brought wind speeds up to 50 miles per hour in Metro Detroit. The highest gust was 90 mph., recorded in Eaton County.

Tuesday's storms were expected develop during the afternoon into evening, with the worst of the weather expected to hit south and east of a line from Howell to Sandusky.

It's important, Turnage said, to have a plan ahead of time for what to do when severe weather hits — including where to get official updates — whether it's on the radio, TV, or social media.

"The first thing is to make sure they have a way of receiving warnings if they're issued," he said. "And sometimes, like in the case of (Monday), there was a Severe Thunderstorm Watch that was issued ahead of time. So, that should be your first clue to really be paying attention to your surroundings, and making sure you have ways of getting updated information."

AccuWeather said it'll stay quite warm on Tuesday, with a high of 87 degrees, and a low of 67 degrees in Detroit.

The storms are expected to Tuesday night, with clouds and some sunny breaks on Wednesday, with a high of 65 degrees.

It will cool down a bit Thursday and Friday, with highs only in the 60s. There could be an afternoon shower on Friday.
