ROYAL OAK (WWJ) -- Residents in one Royal Oak neighborhood are upset over plans to build a new apartment complex near their homes.
The city commission will vote Monday night on finalizing a proposal to build the 42-unit complex along Rochester Road at 14 Mile on the site of an abandoned bank.
WWJ's Charlie Langton reports that people living in the area staged a protest on Sunday evening, saying a three-and-a-half story apartment complex would lead to traffic congestion.
They also say the large complex would be an eyesore in the quaint neighborhood, which is made up of smaller homes.
Residents are expected to voice their displeasure to city leaders again tonight at 7:30 p.m. during the city commission meeting.
