MARQUETTE (WWJ) – The Marquette Police Department needs help finding missing Northern Michigan University student Trenton Massey.
Massey, 21, went missing Sunday, February 22nd, at approximately 3:25 am, in the area of E. Baraga Ave. and the Founder's Landing Boardwalk.
In an earlier update, police said he was seen on camera walking east on the bike path at the 7th Street Bridge. They believe he was trying to walk back to his residence.
Investigators said he appeared to be disoriented and having difficulty walking. He was wearing an olive-green and black jacket and dark pants.
The department is now asking local residents and businesses to check their property, including vehicles and outbuildings, for signs of him. They are also urging anyone with cameras to review footage around the time Massey went missing.
According to NMU officials, Massey is studying construction management. In a social media post, the University extended its deep, heartfelt support to the family and friends of Massey.
All classes at Northern Michigan University, including online classes, were canceled for the day due to winter weather. According to snowfall reports by the National Weather Service, 4.3 inches of snow fell in Marquette in the last 36 hours.
The Marquette Police Department says there’s been an ongoing search party with the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, citizens, and other emergency services organization.
