YORK TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - One woman is dead after troopers say she was hit by a semi truck while walking on US-23 in the middle of the night, troopers said.
Michigan State Police said the crash occurred just before 2 a.m. and troopers from the Brighton post were dispatched to the area in York Township, just before Willis Road in Washtenaw County.
Police arrived at the scene where they pronounced the pedestrian dead.
Troopers said she did not have any identification on her and described the victim as a “middle-aged, white female, possibly in her 40’s.”
MSP is continuing to investigate the fatal crash and have asked tipsters to come forward.
