WOODHAVEN (WWJ) -- Woodhaven Police are looking for a suspect accused of attacking and injuring several pets with a BB gun.
WWJ's Mike Campbell reports this has been happening on Arlington Court which is in the area of Van Horn and Allen Road in Woodhaven, which is in the Downriver area, south of Detroit.
In one instance, a resident said her dog — a 6-year-old Australian Shepherd named Abby — was shot in the head, Campbell said.
In another case, a woman reported that one of her cats came home with an injury to its face from what she first thought may have been from a cat fight. However, when her second cat came home with a hole in the head, the woman said that's when she called the police.
Police are now looking for the person or people responsible for this crime. At this time. there's no description of any suspects.
"What a bizarre story," Campbell said. "They say they think it's somebody local because it's all happening on one street so far."
As for who would do something this... "The owner of the dog says that guy, whoever it is better hope the police get to them first rather than her," Campbell said.
Investigators are asking community members to come forward with any video footage they might have of the suspect.
Anyone with information about this case should call the Woodhaven Police Department at 734-676-7337.
