SHELBY TWP. (WWJ) — Two Florida men and a woman from Tennessee are facing more than a dozen charges each for allegedly breaking into multiple cars across Metro Detroit.

The Shelby Township Police Department got four separate reports the morning of March 14 that residents had their cars broken into and items stolen.

Officials say all four incidents involved the suspects smashing out windows to get into the cars.

Security video footage showed two suspects arriving to each scene in a silver Mazda SUV and fleeing the scene after stealing items.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect vehicle as a rental car from Florida, according to the Shelby Twp. Police Department.

With the help of the Troy Police Department, authorities were able to find the car in Rochester and detectives from both departments began surveillance on the vehicle.

In the early morning hours of March 15, detectives followed a vehicle from a home and saw the same suspects breaking into another car in Rochester Hills.

Police were then able to arrest the two suspects and recover items that had been stolen. Authorities have not revealed what was taken in the alleged break-ins.

Three more people were detained after police executed a search warrant in Rochester. Where authorities found the car used in the crimes parked in the garage.

Danarius Young of Lake Worth, Fla., Chauncey Franklin of Dania, Fla., and Kayln Croom of Cleveland, Tenn., were all arraigned Tuesday in 41-A District Court in Shelby Township.
